Titanic museum to open: Regis Philbin to host grand opening for $25 million attraction

Within the last year, a ship has docked on the Pigeon Forge Parkway. It is a half-scale, three-deck reproduction of the Titanic.

On April 8, the Titanic Museum Attraction will welcome aboard passengers for the very first time.

The Grand Opening of the $25-million attraction begins at 10 a.m. Regis Philbin will host the star-studded event. Descendants and family members of Titanic passengers will help the talk show host christen Pigeon Forge's newest attraction.

The ship's interior is just as impressive as its hull. With interactive exhibits and full size replicas, the museum features 300 authentic artifacts that were either taken from the ship as passengers loaded into lifeboats or found floating on the surface shortly after the ship sank. The centerpiece of the attraction is a $1 million exact reproduction of the Titanic's Grand Staircase.

The Grand Opening of the Titanic Museum Attraction is free and open to the public, but admission is required to enter the museum. Festivities will continue through the weekend of April 8th with celebrity appearances. For more information visit www.TitanicPigeonForge.com.
